GFWC of Holden Beach is a volunteer community service organization, established under the auspices of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC). We are dedicated to serving our community and country, offering opportunity for personal growth and leadership, and promoting friendship and fellowship among our members. GFWC of Holden Beach received first place state awards for it’s club Newsletter and Yearbook. Awards were presented at the 111th GFWC-NC State Convention in Winston Salem.

Julie Wolfe, club president and Judy Brock, club first vice president and editor of the newsletter received the Brenda Causby Sugar and Cream Set for the best newsletter.

President and Linda Sturgill, membership vice president and editor of the yearbook received the Round Silver Tray.
Peggy Schiavone received the GFWC-NC Juanita Bryant Citizenship and Patriotism Award at the State Convention in Winston Salem.

GFWC of Holden Beach supports Lower Cape Fear Hospice

Five GFWC clubs in Brunswick County joined together to build the Hope Garden at the Bolivia location. Two students were recognized with award certificates and ribbons for outstanding achievement. Bake Sale at Day at the Docks

The GFWC of Holden Beach woman’s club recently participated in the Holden Beach “Day at the Docks” Festival with a bake sale tent. The money raised supports Brunswick County charities. GFWC of Holden Beach volunteers were honored recently at a Volunteer Appreciation Brunch at Cedar Grove Middle School.
