President Julie Wolfe and Conservation CSP Chairman Carol Ann Lohman present speaker Mike Causey, North Carolina Department of Transportation, (NC-DOT) Coordinator for the Adopt-A-Highway Program, with a Holden Beach t-shirt. Mr. Causey discussed the Adopt-A-Highway program, which is a volunteer driven roadside cleanup effort, created in 1988.

The Home Life Community Service Program committee of GFWC of Holden Beach provided heart healthy refreshments at their February meeting. To emphasize the national campaign to warn women about heart disease, all clubwomen were asked to wear red. Ms. Debbie Varnam, Family Nurse Practitioner and owner of Varnam Family Wellness Center, presented a program on heart health for GFWC of Holden Beach. Clubwomen were given a red dress pin and information about heart disease awareness.
